Disney On Ice

On Valentines Day, Jill, Brooke, and I took our kids to see Disney on Ice. The show we were seeing was the World of Disney and it had Cars, the Little Mermaid, the Lion King, and Tinkerbell. A little something for everyone...

It is my tradition to get one of these pictures taken at each show (despite the astronomical cost) for properity. We picked the Lightning McQueen display so that the boys wouldn't cringe and the girls seemed okay with it. The picture turned out really cute and we had a fun (albeit expensive) day.

Meeting Baby Anna

The weekend of January 16th we were FINALLY able to meet Baby Anna. Unfortunately, Matt's Grandpa passed away and Matt and Michelle and the kids flew out here to attend the funeral. We were sad that the reason they came out here was death, but we were also pleased to get to celebrate new life and meet Baby Anna. We weren't sure if we were going to meet her while she was a precious little baby. And boy oh boy is she precious.Here is Grandma Karla with her granddaughters Uncle Zach! Watching the three of them together was so much fun. Tyler and Lucy really love playing with their cousin Joey. Tyler liked having a boy to play with. He's pretty surrounded by girls most of the time! We ended the day by having Grandma read bedtime stories to her kiddos. It was supposed to knock the kids out, but I have a feeling Grandma was the first one asleep.
We had a really special day with the Molinari family. It would be so amazing if they lived in California! We look forward to our next visit with Joey and Anna. Oh, and Matt and Michelle too!

A Princess Party Fit For a Queen

On Saturday, January 30th we held a royal ball for Lucy's 3rd birthday. The princesses were invited to come in their best dress and dance the afternoon away. We turned our formal dining room into a castle...complete with Disney princesses. The effect was pretty amazing! We decorated the room the night before Lucy's actual birthday so that she would be surprised when she woke up...and it made setup easier for the night before the party. Happy Birthday to our little Lucy Goosey! We really can't believe that it has been three years since we brought you home from the hospital...so tiny and pink. You've enriched our lives so, so much and we just adore you to pieces.

They got so many cute shots of Goosey in her 3 shirt This next one is just gorgeous. She looks a little mischievious and it fits her perfectly. She's so precious. The Picture People actually asked us if they could hang this one on the wall.

Merry Happy Christmas!

We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holidays. We really and truly did this year. We took a vacation in early December to go to Disneyland, so it forced us to get things done before the trip. When we got home the only thing we had to do was buy and decorate a tree. Other than that things were really calm and peaceful, so we were able to address the holidays with a relaxed attitude.

We spent Christmas Eve with Zach's family at Barbara and Gary's house. The kids got dressed up in their Christmas outfits and got excited about opening presents with their cousins. And about that man in the red suit coming by the house later that evening...

December 18, 2009 marked the year anniversary of my Dad's passing. The date hadn't been discussed in the house all that much, even though it weighed heavy on my mind. That morning, as I was getting ready for work, Tyler came into my bathroom crying and said he'd had a scary dream. He told me part of his dream (something about thorns chasing him) and then said that in the beginning of the dream Grandpa Mike was there. He told me that Grandpa Mike came to him to say that he loved him, he missed him, and that he hoped he had a very Merry Christmas. Then he started to cry. We hugged, and hugged, and hugged some more and I told him the importance of what the day was and how special it was that he was able to get a visit from Grandpa Mike. Wow.

Snow in El Dorado Hills...Again?!

Since we've moved into this house we have had snow three times in four years. That's more than we've had total in all the years we've lived up in the hills. However, Jenn was NOT excited to wake up on December 7th and see this snow. We were trying to leave for our Disneyland trip that morning and this put a bit of a damper on the plans. But, after playing in the snow for an hour and seeing that people had attempted to leave our neighborhood, we decided to head out of town. Especially since it started to snow harder.
