Lucy's First Haircut

I should have posted this a month ago, but I just downloaded the pictures! Lucy's bangs were getting so long and she wouldn't leave her barrette in her hair, so we had to get her bangs trimmed. She did a great job, but she made some funny faces during the haircut. Oh Lucy!

Tyler's New Quad

Tyler got a new toy! Well, Daddy got a new toy and Tyler is the lucky recipient. We are taking a trip to the Oregon Dunes in a few weeks and Zach felt like Tyler should have a quad to ride on the trip too. (Lucy will get to use the battery operated Fisher Price one from when Tyler was a baby.) I wasn't sure how Tyler would react to having a "motorcycle" but he seemed very excited and when he came home and saw Daddy putting it together he couldn't wait to climb on. That's why he's wearing a bike helmet and not an actual helmet...he wouldn't wait to give it a test drive. This weekend we will be buying a real deal helmet for the little guy. I think this will be something fun for Tyler and Daddy to bond over.

Keep Out Mom!

Tyler has decided that he'd like some privacy in his room. This weekend he decided to tell me that he didn't love me anymore and he made a sign for his room that said MOMMY KEEP OUT! The attached picture is of his sign. It is actually how he writes Tyler, but if you ask him about the sign he will tell you that it is to keep me out of his room. At the time his explanation was quite angry and he didn't want me in his room, but now he'll tell you that he just wants some privacy. Really?! Does this stuff really start at 3 years old?! We've got a long road ahead of us. At least he's learning his letters...

Uh-Oh, Oh No, and Melmo

I think Lucy must be working on her "o" sounds. Her new favorite phrases are uh-oh, oh no, and Melmo (Elmo). She also picked up on saying "no no" and likes to tell the dogs that. It is very cute to hear her talking and saying things in the right context. She also said "ow" when I was combing her hair yesterday. And so that begins... She really likes Elmo these days, even though we don't see him much on TV, and she loves to point out that Melmo is on her diapers. I think that's the only thing that keeps her on the table when I'm changing her. Our little Goosey is growing up and becoming verbal. It's the greatest thing ever.

Easter In Yosemite

On March 23rd, we woke up and celebrated Easter with an egg hunt and by digging through the kids' baskets. We had colored eggs the night before with Grandma and Grandpa Odum, so the kids had fun looking for those eggs in the backyard. We only did 12 since we were going on vacation and didn't want to risk losing any in the backyard. As if Belle would let that happen...but just in case. Then we loaded up the kids in the packed-to-the-gills car and headed off to Yosemite. We were meeting Zach's family there. It was our second annual trip.
Tyler was VERY excited to visit Ho-semite again (he can't say y's maybe?). He wanted to hike and throw rocks into the Merced River. It's the simple things that make him happy. Oh, and he also likes the fancy suite we stayed in with a "playroom" just for him. Kids!
We rode the bikes everywhere and hiked to lower Yosemite falls. That was fun and really beautiful. The falls were gushing, so that was fun.

Tyler and I also had quite an adventure! He saw a little rock island in the middle of the river and he wanted to get there, so I was determined to get him there. Come heck or high water (or freezing cold water as it turned out) I was going to get my boy to "his" island. We tried it first with no shoes on and Mommy could only step in for one second, so we put our shoes on and rolled our pants up and ran (carefully) to the other side. Once we got there we had to sit down to let the feet stop hurting, and then, only then, did I remember that we'd have to go back through that water again to get to the other side. What I wouldn't do for my kids. But, Tyler and I made a memory and Zach got some good video.

Unfortunately, my neice Quillan got really sick on the trip and had to leave by ambulance. We sure did miss her on the remainder of the trip!

Laurel Oaks Easter Egg Hunt

This year was the first annual Laurel Oaks Easter egg hunt. What a fun thing for our neighborhood to do! Tyler was SO excited and Lucy was SO clueless...but she picked it up quickly and figured out what to do with those eggs. The kids had a lot of fun. And so did Mommy! We also got to meet the Easter Bunny. Tyler loved that, but Lucy...not so much.

Happy Easter!

Happy St. Paddy's Day

I haven't updated this thing in quite awhile! Bad Mommy! I just thought I would post a couple of pictures in honor of St. Patrick's Day.
